This article adresses how the Italian readers perceive the French author of «Art» (1994) and her famous white painting. The study about Image and Art has as its purpose the analytical description of the current problems encountered to convert Yasmina Reza’s work into another language. We briefly describe in «From one Language to Another. A White Painting» the translation techniques used by the Italian translator Alessandra Serra. The text studied, published for the first time in 2006 (Einaudi), shows an interesting approach for the description of the painting and the three friends Serge, Marc and Yvan. We analyse it in order to highlight some specific «figures de traduction» and to understand how to translate Reza’s figurative language.

Abstract
This article adresses how the Italian readers perceive the French author of «Art» (1994) and her famous white painting. The study about Image and Art has as its purpose the analytical description of the current problems encountered to convert Yasmina Reza’s work into another language. We briefly describe in «From one Language to Another. A White Painting» the translation techniques used by the Italian translator Alessandra Serra. The text studied, published for the first time in 2006 (Einaudi), shows an interesting approach for the description of the painting and the three friends Serge, Marc and Yvan. We analyse it in order to highlight some specific «figures de traduction» and to understand how to translate Reza’s figurative language.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
